[Gotye:]
At present and then I think of when we were together
Similar when you said you lot felt and so happy you lot could die
Told myself that you were right for me
Only felt then lonely in your company
Merely that was dear and it's an ache I still call up

You can get addicted to a sure kind of sadness
Similar resignation to the end, e'er the end
So when we institute that nosotros could not make sense
Well you said that we would still exist friends
Simply I'll acknowledge that I was glad it was over

But you didn't have to cut me off
Brand out similar information technology never happened and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger and I feel so crude
No you didn't have to stoop then low
Have your friends collect your records and then change your number
I guess that I don't demand that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now y'all're simply somebody that I used to know

[Kimbra:]
Now and then I think of all the times yous screwed me over
Function of me believing it was always something that I'd done
Just I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that yous could allow it go
And I wouldn't catch you lot hung up on somebody that you used to know

[Gotye:]
But you didn't have to cutting me off

Make out like it never happened and that we were goose egg
And I don't even need your love
Just you treat me like a stranger and I feel so rough
And you didn't take to stoop and so low
Have your friends collect your records and and then modify your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
